Avec l'entrée en jeu de Bob Rae dans la course au leadership cette semaine, l'élection du prochain chef du Parti Libéral du Canada a pris une tournure définitivement différente. Alors que trois des candidats les plus en vue au Québec sont des universitaires reconnus et respectés, on croirait de plus en plus assister à une course au rectorat!
Déjà, les Bob Rae, Stéphane Dion et Michael Ignatieff ont apporté des idées nouvelles et réfléchies dans leurs interventions publiques. Chez Bob Rae et Michael Ignatieff, on vante volontier la réflexion du candidat. Cette élévation du débat au-delà des intérêts bassement partisans est souhaitable et revitalise les débats politiques. Espérons que ça perdurera!
Par ailleurs, les résultats du sondage maison de "De Nottingham" confirment la tendance perçue jusqu'alors: seuls Bob Rae et Michael Ignatieff se démarquent des autres candidats. Stéphane Dion compte sur un certain nombre d'appuis, probablement auprès des Québécois alors que les autres candidats demeurent dans l'ombre.

With Bob Rae joining the ranks of the candidates to the Liberal Party of Canada's leadership, the election has taken a completely different twist. Actually, the three main candidates being recognized and appreciated universities' professors, we are living almost an election to the Vice-Chancellor's leadership!
Already, Bob Rae, Stephane Dion and Michael Ignatieff are bringing new and refreshing ideas in their public interventions. In the Rae and Ignatieff's team, we promote the candidate's intellectual habilities. That elevation of the political debate over the usual partisan level is good, refreshing and it must continue!
On the other hand, the house poll from "From Nottingham" confirms the trend already observed: Rae and Ignatieff are the two main favourites in that leadership run. Stephane Dion has a few supporters in Quebec and most of the other candidates are unknown by the public.
